Regular daily maintenance investment is much lower than the cost of major repairs or replacements in the later stage. Here are 5 "money saving rules" for daily maintenance of wrought iron guardrails.

法則一：定期除塵，保持表面清潔。

Rule 1: Regularly remove dust and keep the surface clean.

鐵藝護欄在使用中會堆積灰塵和污垢。這些看似無害的附著物，在潮濕天氣下會吸附水分和酸性物質，加速涂層老化和金屬腐蝕。

Iron railings can accumulate dust and dirt during use. These seemingly harmless attachments can adsorb moisture and acidic substances in humid weather, accelerating coating aging and metal corrosion.

每月至少清潔一次——使用柔軟的干布擦拭表面，對于凹陷和雕花部位，可用細軟羊毛刷除塵。避免使用硬質刷子或鋼絲球，會劃傷表面涂層導致生銹。

Clean at least once a month - use a soft dry cloth to wipe the surface, and for concave and carved areas, use a fine soft wool brush to remove dust. Avoid using hard brushes or steel wire balls as they may scratch the surface coating and cause rust.

法則二：雨后及時擦干，避免積水腐蝕。

Rule 2: Wipe dry promptly after rain to avoid water accumulation and corrosion.

雨水（尤其是酸雨）對鐵藝護欄的腐蝕性不容忽視。雨停后應及時用干棉布擦干護欄表面的水珠。如果護欄長期暴露在潮濕環境中，建議在底部和焊接處加強防護，這些地方最易積水生銹。

The corrosiveness of rainwater (especially acid rain) on wrought iron guardrails cannot be ignored. After the rain stops, dry the water droplets on the surface of the guardrail with a dry cotton cloth in a timely manner. If the guardrail is exposed to a humid environment for a long time, it is recommended to strengthen protection at the bottom and welding points, as these areas are most prone to water accumulation and rusting.

檢查排水設計——護欄橫桿和立柱的連接處應避免形成“積水槽”。如果發現某些部位容易積水，可考慮在底部鉆小排水孔或調整安裝角度。

Check the drainage design - the connection between the guardrail crossbar and the column should avoid forming a "water accumulation groove". If it is found that certain parts are prone to water accumulation, it may be considered to drill small drainage holes at the bottom or adjust the installation angle.

法則三：定期檢查焊接點和螺絲。

Rule 3: Regularly inspect welding points and screws.

每季度檢查一次焊接點和螺絲緊固情況。焊接處是護欄受力最集中的部位，也是最容易生銹和開裂的位置。如果發現焊縫有細微裂縫，應及時補焊并重新做防銹處理。

Check the welding points and screw fastening once every quarter. The welding point is the most concentrated area of stress on the guardrail, and it is also the most prone to rusting and cracking. If minor cracks are found in the weld seam, they should be repaired in a timely manner and rust prevention treatment should be carried out again.

螺絲松動會導致護欄整體穩定性下降。發現松動立即用扳手緊固。生銹的螺絲應及時更換為不銹鋼螺絲。

Loose screws can lead to a decrease in the overall stability of the guardrail. If any looseness is found, immediately tighten it with a wrench. Rusted screws should be replaced with stainless steel screws in a timely manner.

法則四：及時補漆，防止銹蝕擴散。

Rule 4: Timely touch up paint to prevent rust from spreading.

鐵藝護欄表面涂層一旦破損，金屬基體直接暴露在空氣中，銹蝕會從破損點向四周擴散。發現涂層破損或局部生銹，應立即處理。

Once the surface coating of the wrought iron guardrail is damaged, the metal substrate is directly exposed to the air, and rust will spread from the damaged point to the surrounding area. If the coating is found to be damaged or partially rusted, it should be dealt with immediately.

處理步驟：用細砂紙打磨生銹部位至露出金屬本色→清理粉塵→涂刷防銹底漆→干燥后涂刷面漆。小修小補的成本是幾十元，等到大面積生銹再處理，成本可能是幾百甚至上千元。

Processing steps: Polish the rusted area with fine sandpaper until the metal color is exposed → clean the dust → apply anti rust primer → apply topcoat after drying. The cost of minor repairs and restorations is several tens of yuan, and when it comes to dealing with large areas of rust, the cost may be several hundred or even thousands of yuan.

法則五：做好防潮和防磕碰。

Rule 5: Take measures to prevent moisture and bumps.

大霧天氣應用干棉布擦拭鐵藝上的水珠，減少潮濕空氣對金屬的侵蝕。

In foggy weather, dry cotton cloth should be used to wipe the water droplets on the iron to reduce the erosion of metal by humid air.

避免硬物磕碰——搬運物品、修剪花草時注意不要撞擊護欄。一旦磕碰造成涂層破損，立即按法則四的方法補漆處理。

Avoid collisions with hard objects - be careful not to hit the guardrail when handling items or trimming flowers and plants. Once the coating is damaged due to collision, immediately follow the method of Rule 4 to repair the paint.

定期養護周期建議：每月除塵，每季檢查，每年補漆。堅持這個周期，鐵藝護欄的使用壽命可延長5-8年。
